If you get a USB-serial adapter, try to find one that uses the FTDI chip rather than Prolific. Prolific is more common but the drivers can be problematic especially with newer PC's.
100% on this. The one I mentioned above as not working is Prolific and the other one I have which works beautifully when I need it is FTDI.If you get a USB-serial adapter, try to find one that uses the FTDI chip rather than Prolific. Won't even crankIt won't even fire or it starts and then dies?
Is that done with the tech2did you link the PIM and ECM?
The thought may have crossed my mind. How much longer until you torch the car and get a new one? Lol
it should be. i thought that's what you were originally having problems with?Is that done with the tech2
No I was using a vxdiag nano that wasn't workingit should be. i thought that's what you were originally having problems with?
I'm looking into that very thing right nowi wonder if there's a specific sequence things need to be linked in.
Crap! I have no clue how I missed the second part. Okay I'm getting a SES and thats it, but now going back to post 47 it looks like I have the same problem again because my vxdiag nano doesn't work properly so I can't perform the passthru part. There is. It depends on what you are doing. If just reprogramming the ECU, then the ECU needs to be linked to PIM after reprogramming the ECU. See post 47 of this thread. What codes are you getting? Is the cluster flashing SES, ABS, and other faults when you turn the key on?
There is also paid access to the full service manual on the ACDelco site. If you want reprogramming information straight from the horses mouth.
How do I do thatwonder if you need a fresh PIM.
