Reflash question

If I reflash my ECU with a Tech2 or a Clone version do I need the security pin, or is that not needed? I ask because the Diablosport i2 didn't work to reset the computer.

i would let a few other folks comment first, tho. i'm pulling this idea out of my butt--just guessing.
I wonder if this was the problem that @eXo3901 was having on his hptuners post?
I have all original OEM modules. There was no issue with any of them. Just needed to follow the service procedure. Reprogram>Wait for security code box to pop up to link the PIM>enter security code>PIM and ECU link successful.

Okay, @eXo3901 here is exactly what I did in the exact order I did it in per the instructions on post #47. First I reprogrammed the ecu

Second, I disconnected the ACDelco SPS and connected the Tech2 and linked the BCM to the PIM

Third, I disconnected the Tech2 and reconnected ACDelco SPS and tried to link the PIM to the ECU at no point did it ask for the immobilizer code it just read PIM link to ECU failed thats it.

According to the directions on post #47 you have to use the scan tool to link the PIM to the BCM and the SPS to link the PIM to the ECU.
you should be able to use the tech ii for everything.

How do I get SPS on the Tech2?
nevermind, i went back and read the post. odd that it requires you do to that.

so you're still using the vxnano for the pim/ecm link? did you ever get the better cable that @eXo3901 mentioned?
Passthrough programming with Tis2000 or tis2web, keep the tech2 connected to the car and have it connected to your computer.

Need an RS232 port or adapter that can run at these specs.

Which connection? The serial? Thats why you need the serial adapter to usb. Which i posted previously.

The other looks like ethernet. Which there are ethernet to usb adapters available as well.

The “ethernet” plugs into the tech2 and the rs-232 plugs into the computer.
