It has been suggested here before that the problems with the pedal on spec clutch installs might be solved by machining the supplied spacer to 50% its size. Has anyone tried this or making their own spacer?

I know that on average everyone without it has to fully drop the pedal to disengage the clutch, and on average everyone with it in has 0 pedal play before putting pressure on the plate. So halfway would make sence, I would just like some reinforcement before I go messing with it.

ps no spec bashing

Thankx

we were talking about this tonight (me and perdieu). we are going to play around with his more and see what difference it makes. i know he made a custom spacer and i have the spec factory spacer. there is a huge difference between our 21 clutches (we both have everything else the same). he is going to try to flush his fluid to a high temp fluid (i am running motul re600 and he is running no name old stuff). we are going to go from there. pm him and see what he says about his spacer specs
