My stock stereo doesnt mute completely when the mute button is hit. Has anyone else encountered this or can it be set thru the personalization features. I've only had my car a week and havent went thru the personalization yet.

I alot of people believe mute means off. When you mute a trumpet you can still hear it :)

basicaly, the mute is a true mute. It only drops the volume 20 Db or so. Most stereo systems do the same. Think of a mute on a trumpet or muting the strings on a gutiar. doing so doesn't stop the sound it just deadens it. Off stops the sound.

Should have called it attuenate or att, but then a lot of drivers would have to break out a dictionary.
