First of all, gimme a break, my internet is running slow, takes like 5 minutes to load a page and I don't have all night, AND YES! I did search and didn't come up with an answer.

I am officially in the strut rub club. Got it on the inside of my driver side front tire. I'm taking it down to the dealership this weekend... My question is this: Will they replace the rubber? I know it's kinda iffy, but I don't feel like buying a new tire right now. I'm in kind of a financially crappy moment of my life right now anyways.

Any ideas?

Little bit over 10,000 miles. Bought about 6-8 months ago. Not going back to the dealership I bought it from.

Only mods are the air intake, I got the stock mufflers back on and can change the tune back.

The tires on it are a little worn, not to the point to where they need to be changed, but worn none the less. The rubbed part is completely obvious, it's at a different angle than the other stuff and is completely smooth. You can also see the part where it rubbed.

With the hp you said on your post, you hve done more than a program and a air filter, or am i also still dreaming?

Anyways, with only 10K miles, the service manager has the ability to do whatever it takes to resolve your issue. As far as replaicng the tire, really depends on how bad the rub is and you have not fully explained your tire wear. Also, you can usualy tell if the tires have been rotated or not. Also your tire pressures should be in the 35psi cold range

To resolve, they will have to reduce your negative cmber a bunch in the front.

lol, the numbers are complete BS... The car is near stock.

At the spot the tires were rubbed, the tire is completely bald, it's not down to the wire yet, but it looks as if it's gonna be soon. I keep the tires at between 35 and 40 psi mostly, last time I checked they went down to 30. (last time was about 4 hours ago)

I just took it in and it turns out the service guy is a GTO fan and knows some other people with goats. I told him the issue and told him a lot of other people with GTOs have the same problem, he took it right away and said he'd fix it.

Nope, not warranting it. Apparently now I hit something, nice to know that, I wasn't aware of it.

The rub is so bad I literly will need 2 front tires for it and they won't align it.

Crap, well there goes the money I've been saving up for a vacation...

There was no impact, but according to the service tech there was.

Tomorrow, I'm heading to a new dealership, if they don't do it then I'm calling GM and the BBB.

Drive up to see Mike White at DMS. Your car will be diagnosed correctly and covered under warranty if that is possible. I guarantee you will get the straight story in one trip. By the time you chase down another dealer and the BBB and Pontiac you realise you could have had a glass of wine with MIke and your car would be done.

There are reasons we have people driving 7 hours to a Pedders shop and Pedders Pontiac Stores. Good service is expenssive and it doesn't take longer. Good service is invaluable and saves time and money!

I know I've heard that name before, but please endulge on who Mike White and DMS is.

I can't seem to remember exactly who it is and searching led me to a bunch of dead ends. As far as I can tell, he does suspension mods?

We are a moderately large Pontiac Buick GMC dealership in the SF Bay area and we have a design and performance center in house called DMS for Dublin Motor Sports. many of the poeple who work with me call DMS "Doing Mike's [email protected]#$%t.. We are one of the sponsors of this forum. Listed with my info is my email and phone number

Your pics look frighteningly familiar....
My dealership was kind enough to exchange my tires for me and they adjusted my camber to positive. The problem has not re-occured yet....
I will hopefully be putting in some Pedders parts in the near future to correct the problem properly...

I'm expecting to get myself some pedders asap, but I really can't afford anything at the moment. Being broke sucks :judge:
