I am working with the guys over at VFN (Armando and his Father) to come up with a few styles of hoods for our GTO's. They used my car as a template and would like to design a couple of subtle to wild (possibly) styled hoods.

Some may be functional and even incorporate new air intake systems in a RAM AIR fashion.

One I had envisioned was a set of scoops similar to the 64/65 style scoops at the front of the hood that would feed an airbox, similar to the LT1 WS6 style airbox.

Hmmm. I've been thinking of finding a couple of stock hoods to cut and to try and build a simple, discrete, and stealthy 'air sandwich' style hood for cowl induction open at the windshield end for the dual benefit of using some of the air trapped in front of the windshield for the intake. The inner original hood would have to be drilled for drainage, and a hole cut near the airbox for ducting. I envision it as being nearly flat, but a little fatter than the stock, especially in the middle, tapered to the normal sides and front, and nearly invisible for what it is. The outer layer would extend further back at the windshield end than the bottom and be screened there against debri, etc. Maybe I'll work up a drawing....Hmmmm. :sneaky:

I made a hood to fit my wife's 98 GTP, styled like 95 Ram Air TA hood. Unfotunately can't find pics. I think that would look good.

Also I would like to see a photoshop of a 72 TA shaker on an IBM GTO complete with white stripe down the middle.

For the right price, I'll ship you a stock hood, with gas struts, already crated and ready to go. It is, however, Torrid Red and missing the stock hinges. I'll deduct $1.00 for the missing hinges. :D

Okay, so a buck for the hood minus a buck for the hinges? A dollar two ninety-five do it? Actually, you may need yours this winter. I should be checking the insurance lots, huh?

What about the actual 2005 GTO hood? I've seen the spy pics somewhere...
I hope that 2005 hood is an option because I would prefer no hood scoops if given the choice.

Actually, that GP hood from PFYC is the best one I have seen so far.

But that is really a subjective opinion. Some people like other hood scoops, some do not want a hood scoop/scoops at all.

If we all had the same taste it would be a VERY boring world!

I went and test drove the goat yesterday...holy crap!!! :D Anyway, I was shooting the dung with the sales rep and told them about the "advanced info" we stumbled upon and offered to email it to them. They confirmed that the hood would be an option and said that there were a few other options, but they would not go into detail. They also confirmed that they will be doing the preorder thing again for the 05. I'll just nab mine off a lot as it will probably be faster that way, but I know there were a few of you who were wondering about it.

That being said, I really liked the hood that was on the red goat in The Last Ride. That one and the banshee from pfyc are the only ones that have caught my attention.
