Hmm, I have one of his original hand made flat top intake.
Just always cleaned and reoiled.
Will check the dimensions.

It's made of fiberglass. You're talking about it being shallow by an ~1/8" on each side of the long end, and a .44" taller on the wide end. You should be able to easily modify the opening to fit the new filter, or buy some paper filters for a TR-7 and see which one fits the best.

I have the original flat design also. The rubber around the filter is cracked so it’s DONE. But I did get a replacement from a part number above. I will just trim a bit if necessary. Thanks for your help though.

I read on a thread once that they used the 33-2011 filter as a replacement for the original svede. They had said it looked different but fit in just fine. I too have one of the original ones with the old filter I actually just received my new filter a few days ago. My car is down so I haven’t tested it but can if you haven’t pulled the trigger on a new one yet. They aren’t cheap at 70$ but this is the cheapest I have ever seen them. They’re usually 84$ Plus tax 😅
