U.P. no longer cooperating

Just got off the phone with Walter at the auto desk for UP. Up until now, I got a computer asking for my railcar #. Today I got Walter. He told me to call Wanda at some long distance number. Wanda works for GM, I guess. I left her a message.

I had been calling the automated message about 10x/day. I am trying to confirm whether my GTO may have stayed on the railcar and went straight thru Fairfax on the way to Illinois and other points east.

I was told by Eric at UP that they were going to start charging GM for all the influx of phone calls they have been receiving about the GTO. He said the dealership was the only one that was suppose to call. So call back and tell them you are Mr. So-in-so from XYZ Pontiac and you are checking on the where-abouts of the GTO. See where that gets you.

You guys are all going to get me in trouble somehow. It's not important tho, GM should have done better with shipping these cars. Maybe I'll call up UP and see if we can work something out. I don't want to have a big commitment, but maybe I'll work something out where for a month everyone can call and someone else gets the bill instead of GM.

Of course some of us still need our VIN before we can call. Sorry just couldn't help myself.

When I called, I asked if there where a way to get results for a batch of numbers. The response was no, each number would need to checked individually.

I just don't know why they can't start kicking it in the ass to get these cars delivered, and I mean GM, not UP of course. Start flexing that "global giant" muscle for pete's sake. It's embarassing.
