Last night about 6:30p I'm headed east on RT 2 going home minding my own business doing about 85 mph and passing everthing at will. After awhile I'm down near exit 13 still doing 85ish,when I "slowly" caught up to a dark gray Ford SUV with tinted windows thats doing about 75 in the traval lane. Put the signal on to pass, blink the lights twice and start to go by when the SUV accelerates and slowly pulls out in front of me and stays there. After what seemed like a minute or two I get suspicious slow down and pull back into the travel lane....and sure enough he does the samething. A few more seconds go by I put the signal back on blink the lights and move out again. this time he doesn't follow. So I increase my speed back up to 85 and begin to pass him. As I pulled out I looked down the side of the SUV to see if he has any State Police or MVD stickers on the doors....Nope so I start to pull along side (my front wheel just behind his rear wheel) when I noticed the license plate, it's typical CT plate except it says STATE POLICE in very small letters right under the numbers! Oh shit.....I back off and start to pull back in behind him when he turns on every freakin' light he has. I figure that I'm dead for sure, so I slow down even more and get ready to pull over and stop then he slows down even more than me so that he is along side of me. He TURNS OFF all of the lights and rolls down the passenger window shakes his finger at me frowns and then slowly picks up speed and leaves me wondering what the hell just happened. I thought about trying to catch him to say thank you for not giving me a ticket but at the last moment my senses kick in so I just screamed thank you and then slowed down to 65 and went home.
This is a TRUE story honest! Not at all sure why he did what he did all I know is that I am thankful and I wanted to say that here.
THANK YOU OFFICER you are appreciated not only for what you did but for what you do every day!
