Last night about 6:30p I'm headed east on RT 2 going home minding my own business doing about 85 mph and passing everthing at will. After awhile I'm down near exit 13 still doing 85ish,when I "slowly" caught up to a dark gray Ford SUV with tinted windows thats doing about 75 in the traval lane. Put the signal on to pass, blink the lights twice and start to go by when the SUV accelerates and slowly pulls out in front of me and stays there. After what seemed like a minute or two I get suspicious slow down and pull back into the travel lane....and sure enough he does the samething. A few more seconds go by I put the signal back on blink the lights and move out again. this time he doesn't follow. So I increase my speed back up to 85 and begin to pass him. As I pulled out I looked down the side of the SUV to see if he has any State Police or MVD stickers on the doors....Nope so I start to pull along side (my front wheel just behind his rear wheel) when I noticed the license plate, it's typical CT plate except it says STATE POLICE in very small letters right under the numbers! Oh shit.....I back off and start to pull back in behind him when he turns on every freakin' light he has. I figure that I'm dead for sure, so I slow down even more and get ready to pull over and stop then he slows down even more than me so that he is along side of me. He TURNS OFF all of the lights and rolls down the passenger window shakes his finger at me frowns and then slowly picks up speed and leaves me wondering what the hell just happened. I thought about trying to catch him to say thank you for not giving me a ticket but at the last moment my senses kick in so I just screamed thank you and then slowed down to 65 and went home.

This is a TRUE story honest! Not at all sure why he did what he did all I know is that I am thankful and I wanted to say that here.

THANK YOU OFFICER you are appreciated not only for what you did but for what you do every day!

Bob

haha, reminds me of an incedent many yrs ago with NY State Police, but it was an actuall patrol car. Yup, I tried to pick a race with a State Police patrol unit... please dont ask me what drugs was I on..... he jammed on the brakes, got behind me and pulled me over. He asked me two questions,

1. Were you racing me?
2. Are you crazy?

He didnt know what to do with me, cause he was shocked, so he yelled at me and told me how quickly he can have my car inpounded, when he saw the tears coming down, he yelled at me even more and then told me to go home.
I was only 17

Ask that trooper the same question today and I gaurantee you that he would know exactly what to do with you. And again, did you give him a thumbs up?

Same thing happened to me on 91, but the cop was in an Impala instead. I passed a bunch of cars that were going slow in the left lane. (3 lane hwy) I then see this Impala break out of the pack and starts to comes up fairly fast on my drivers side. I thought he wanted to have a go at it, but as I was just about to nail it I looked over. The dark tinted passenger window rolls down and I see a Statie in full uniform flashing his badge at me telling me to S L O W down. I just about crapped myself and waved back mouthing Thank You. This was in the spring and the first day I took the Goat out since it was stored. That would have sucked to get a ticket after 5 months of storage, lol. See, not all of CT state troopers are ticket happy, either that or he had somewhere to go and didn't feel like stopping.
