17-85mm f/4-5.6 EF-S IS
70-200mm f/2.8 EF IS

Desperately, desperately want to get a 5D Mark ii, but don't really have the skill to justify the cost. Would have to get a new general purpose lens, too (damn EF-S).

17-40L is my favorite lens on earth. i can rentz from u?

:)
I'm not that fond of it really. It rocked on a full frame body but it is sort of 'EH' on a DSLR 1.6crop body. It is huge and sort of covers the middle, slightly wide to slightly tele. It is nice and sharp though. I've thought about selling it and picking up a 10-20mm

I've never tried it on the smaller sensor - last time I used it was when I was at RIT with photo-equipment privileges, so I used to borrow that and the 5D all the time. You should mail it to me so I can evaluate it ;) :wall:

Sigma 10-20 is fantastic, the Canon EF-S 10-22 is a little nicer (IMO), but not enough to justify the price difference.

I've never been much for landscape photography myself. I tend to try to isolate bits and pieces of the scene. I really like to make use of the 'noise' in the back/foreground with a shallow DOF. So wide lenses don't really spark my interest.

Anyone else confused?
me!

I really want a wideangle that's not a fisheye. I like my fisheye but I want to do more landscape stuff and just more general stuff that requires a wide angle. There is a 12-24 that I pay pick up for cheap.. but I really don't have the cash.. well I do but it's for the GTO.

photography stuff or gto stuff. it's a tough one.

fisheye. I have a lot of shots where I have feet/arms/fingers in them due to that haha.

You can never have too many lenses. The 10-20 would fill the void better than the 17-40 even though I seldom use it. :) I more likely to pick up a 24-70mm f/2.4 L lens to be honest. But you never know. I hauled the 17-40 to South Africa when I was there along with my primes and my 70-300 IS f/5.6. The 70-300 died in travel so I shot 90% of the day light shots with the 17-40mm. It did ok. :)
