Drag bags are air bags that inflate within your rear mini bloc coil springs. The inflated bag reduces the coil movement and can virtually eliminate spring movement with enough air pressure. Adjustable dampers controls the speed at which a coil reacts on bound and rebound.

The two functions are completely different.

but i thought that if you tighten the shocks and don't allow for so much movement. it would do the same thing as what the drag bags do to reduce wheel hop

Dampers DAMP the rate at which the spring reacts. Spring rate and damper rate should be matched. The OE spring rate is too low and combines with soft damping rates and x member bushes to create wheel tramp / wheel hop. The correct fix for wheel tramp is to alter the harmonics of the IRS by increasing the rate of coil and damping while upgrading the OE x member bushes to urethane bits.

This will be the most stable setup for a 200 MPH run. You should have your car aligned at a Pedders shop including the front cradle, rear cradle, transmission centralization and four wheel alignment. At 200 MPH you'll also want to have your tires and wheels road force balanced. You should also be running a safety loop on your drive shaft. Your local Pedders Dealer will be a valuable resource in your 200 MPH quest.

jeez. thats a lot of parts. am i right to assume that the set up will cost over 4k after everything is said and done? got any cheaper options for me? for the moment i just want to do it once and then put a little more money into it to make my car even more stable.

At 200 MPH you may only get one chance at that speed. The first time is the most dangerous. Do everything right the first time out.

If you are just drag racing, get the bags. They work really well and are cheap. If you road race, or want the suspension to be "better" all the time, get a full suspension setup.

Full suspenion does not always kill all wheel hop though, so keep that in mind.
