Wtf - Part 2

Ok. Called pontiac again. Basically said

1. My dealer was invoiced for the car on 12/12 with an estimated delivery date of 12/12. They show the car as shipped on 12/3.

2. Cars with higher vin's are already on the road

3. My dealer is basically trying to call railyards to find my car as the dealer information center is giving them no more info then I have.

4. I finally call pontiac today at 2 pm and explain all this. After 15 minutes on hold they basically say "They show my car as arriving in port on 12/19". I was like what port? California?. They had no real answer other then for me to call my dealer. My dealer is confused as I am and he's being charged intrest on this car for the past 10 days as well. His interest is in finding this car and getting it to me so he can get paid. He's being just as stymied as I am. What the hell is going on is more than a valid question.

yea well i didnt even bother to call my dealer or pontiac today and i feel beter
Ever thought of calling the GM zone rep in that area? Usually they have some pull, at least on the service side they did.
My Dealer called his GM Rep and he new less than either of us! He said "what it is not in yet" and he tried to call somewhere to find out what was going on and just got that it was in the states. Well I called Pontiac today and they said all they knew was it was built in September that since the car was built outside the US they have no way of tracking it. I am really getting frustrated but I can not blame my dealer. He has tried everything possible.

What amazes me is that we are MORE aware of what is going on than the people we've been told to call. Those people have given us so many different answers I wonder if they are just making things up. Seriously, I have heard so many different stories that it isn't even funny anymore.
I agree tigger (see my post from yesterday "the runaround" and you can see from 3 different calls, 3 completely different answers. We are getting the cold shoulder from pontiac, and I think it is high time to as a group let them know how pissed off we are
OK, So try this one. I have another GTO on line to purchase. It has a TPW of 9/25/03 and a 5000 status. The dealer has had the invoice, window sticker, mso and all related papers for over 2 weeks and is paying GM a floorplan on it, GM's computer says he has had it since 12/12, He still has NO car. He has called the DBC several times and was told it is sitting in the port of LA. When he asked how long before he sees it, they had no answers for him.  Where do we go from here? Has anyone checked out the port of LA?
He was also told today that the only cars that have been released from port are the ones from the first ship. :slap:
With this "rumor" that the only cars released were from the first boat there are 3-4 shiploads of cars sitting somewhere. If they have their act together as we know (NOT) there are some from the first ship- all you guys with September TPW's who have not gotten upgraded production codes and VIN's - not to mention the 2nd,stuffed in the back of some lot forgotten behind new shipments. Thus we are seeing upgraded production codes for cars with TPW 1 week ago and not for the September guys.

As we all know the folks who know wtf is going on, aren't telling. Is a real shame. Although we know some of these Boards are being read, I still think some sort of formal letter to Kraut, Lutz et al to let them know would at least make us feel better we told them what we thought. Not that it would actually accomplish anything. Oh Well. :slap:
Well guys I called this morning(Dec.24th) about my first car to arrive to my dealership. Anyway they said the car left California on 12/19/03 and will arrive in Fairfax, KS on 12/30/03 and from there it will be shipped so that means I will see the car right before the first of the year. This is on a car with a TPW of 9/10/03. Also my dealership is paying interest on the car already and it is not at the dealership. You think you guys are frustrated I am as well, as much as you guys want to buy them I want to sell them. By the way they also told me the car is somewhere in Nebraska on a rail car.

This seems to be the current story. BTW, I'd imagine that there are a LOT of pissed of dealerships paying interest on these cars.
From the looks of it - the East Coast cars don't look to be here before the 2nd week of January, if Z06J's don' hit until 1/1 or so.

I called Pontiac's Customer Service today and was told that my car was at the "port." I told the rep that it is on a train, to which she replied "You'll have to have your dealer call us, we can't release that info to you."

"...COMMUNICATIONS BREAKDOWN, IT'S ALWAYS THE SAME, HAVING A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN - DRIVE ME INSANE"

Folks, we have a guy (HD926) in KC that's looking for our Goats everyday - I'm frustrated too, but he'll know first when these things get there. In fact he'll know before any of our dealers know!

I can't wait to hear from him "The Goats are coming, the Goats are coming..."

BTW: My dad was a hoghead on the UP, my uncles were hogheads on the UP (over 120 years combined service), and I never remember that the UPRR stopped rolling stock for Christmas!

Dear Mr. XXXXXX,

Thank you for contacting the Pontiac Customer Assistance Center. Congratulations on your new GTO!
I have had an opportunity to review your current order status. As you are aware your GTO has arrived in the U.S. port in LA. Your GTO will be shipped from LA to the East Coast via rail car. Once it is actually on the rail car, your dealer will be able to get more up-to-date delivery information.

Please stay in contact with the sales manager at your dealership for further information. They can provide you with up-to-date delivery information.

If you should need to contact us in the future, simply reply to this message or call our Pontiac Customer Assistance Center at 1-800-762-2737. Customer Relationship Managers are available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., Eastern Time.

Again, thank you for contacting Pontiac.

Sincerely,

Joanne Danzer

Above is a copy of the email I recieved last night from Pontiac customer assistance. Has anyone checked the port of LA for GTO's? It seems they might be shipping to both ports.
