I know this has been asked a bunch and there are many answers. I've checked them all and still have no idea. The car randomly started going into limp mode. It doesn't get driven much and never had a problem before. The car is SD tuned, if I unhook battery cables and hook back up then it's fine but not for long. I drove it and it was fine (did not drive hard). Had it running today for a bit and gave it a couple revs, hit 3500 and went into limp mode. There are no codes stored . I disconnected battery and hooked back up and started up and then went into limp by itself. Then the car died and would not even try to crank. Disconnect battery and hook back up and fires right up and then goes into limp mode.

No codes, no wire issues, no pin issues.

I'm going to take it to the shop to get looked at but was trying to figure it out myself before spending a bunch of money.
Hi !
Had that problem with an '06 GTO LS2 in my C1 Corvette. After much pain and gnashing of teeth the problem turned out to be loose connection on fuel pump. The minute the fuel pressure drops, even a little..................!
Hope that helps.

I'll make sure the fuel pump connections are good too. I have a digit do gauge and never noticed anything, even while in limp mode. But I took it to get an alignment and apparently it went into limp mode again when they went to pull it in the shop. I didn't have a a problem when I picked it up and drove it back but I also did not get on it. So I'll check the tb blade and check fp connection

Still going into limp mode. I dont see or feel the blade hitting or dragging. Fuel connections are all good and tight. Fuel pressure was steady at 60 when it went into limp mode. Still no codes either.

Check the engine harness grounds on the cylinder heads (1 front on the passenger side and 1 rear on the driver side). Also take a good look at the throttle body connector and the wires for it on the engine harness.

Your throttle body or the accelerator pedal may be going out with intermittent connection.

I did look at the tb connector harness and all the wires are good. I'll check the grounds though. If the TB or Pedal sensor were intermittent, would it throw a code or no? I still have no codes stored.

Can you download or get a copy of the tune and post it? That way we can see if any codes have been turned off that could point to the isssue?

Stick a stock TB on there that hasn't been messed with and see what happens.

Looks ported to me.

at this point, i wouldn't assume that. at least this way you eliminate a potential cause instead of assuming that it isn't.

looks like a stock LS2 throttle body. If so, switch to an AC Delco (NOT aftermarket) LS3 gold blade throttle body and you'll probably have no more problems. They are a direct bolt on swap and the change over will not require adjustment to the tune.

As far as I know, the throttle body is stock and oem. Although one member says it looks ported but I'm not sure how to of it has or not. I have no way of knowing or verifying of it's the throttle body or not and before I spend $250 on a new one gold blade, I'd like some type of certainty

Given your pictures, your throttle body does look to have been ported. The LS2 TBs are more prone to failure than most, don't know why. The LS3 versions are an improved version. Point being, you'll probably be replacing that LS2 TB anyway at some point and the OEM AC Delco ones won't be around forever. You should probably buy one now regardless.

If you want to do something that will not cost any money, remove the gas pedal and take the cover off an verify the tiny little fingers inside are making good contact with the circuit board and make sure the sweep area on the circuit board is clean. If not, you can VERY GENTLY clean the sweep area with some Q-Tips and electronics cleaner.

Thank you for the advice. I'll try that as well.

I did go ahead and ordered the oem ls3 throttle body. Like you said, the ls2 have known problems and bond to screw up eventually. I'll pop it on tomorrow night and see if anything changes.

Will I need to do an idle relearn ( if so, how? ) or will it learn itself?
