Oil pan gasket...

So I have an oil leak comming from the oil pan and need to replace the gasket. From what I read i will have to lift the motor up to have enough clearance. It's freezing here in Michigan and after looking at it for a minute it doesn't look like fun. How much do you think the job should cost to have done? How long should it take to do myself? Replace anything else while I have the pan off? Rear main?? Any info from guys who have done the job themselves would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Not only do you have to lift the motor but you have to lower the cradle, also verify the leak is from the oil pan and not a valve cover leaking down to that area, the rear main seal if needed you also have to pull the transmission and might have to change the rear cover gasket as well, also might be the front cam cover gasket, there are special alignment tools to make sure the oil pan goes back on right, although I have put oil pans with and without the special tools I have had good luck with no oil leaks, I have never done a in frame oil pan change as you are wanting to do, but you are right it does look like a big PITA and I would guesstimate with good mechanical skills and tools and having being the first time, in a home setting, I say about 5-8 hours for a pan gasket only?? Good Luck

Haha I'm going to leave this one to the perfessionals. Cause god knows if I did that whole job feeling like as ice cube on the garage floor and found out that one part of the pan still leaked.... I'm loosing it. I work to many hours for it to ruin the one day off. Hell, I never see my tax returns anyway!
