What to do? Which to choose?

Also anyone know of any in the Austin area that are for sale?

Neon. Cheaper. Proven. Lighter.

Did I mention it comes with a turbo?

It would be a toss up between the new colbalt turbo and the neon. But I'd still say the neon will give more bang for the buck and has a proven platform.

I'd had both an srt4 and a bugeye wrx. Both modified. WRX got to 12.6@112 with a turbo upgrade in 40 degree weather. The srt4 got to 13.0@109 in 104 degree weather with stock turbo. Both were fun cars but unless you plan on upgrading the transmission on the bugeye, go srt4.

I had the ss/sc and it was a pain in the ass to make it fast. If you want to leave it stock i would go with the ss/sc. Modded go srt.

WRX. The only one I'd personally be interested in.

Test drove an 06 Cobalt SS/SC a while back, was pretty disappointed-- unless you like driving a go kart.

I would keep it American and go with the SRT-4 if I just had to go that route...

srt-4 . i had one, 75000 miles and 380 whp without single problem, unless i would mess something up LOL
very reliable car if you take care of it

SRT-4 that thing sounds like a JET with the right exhaust! lol

I had an 06 Cobalt SS/SC and I loved it. I only got rid of it to get the GTO. But that car is so much fun to drive. And I personally think they look hella better than the Neon. And yeah it may be turboed, but it's still a Neon.

the new cobalts are pretty quick so I've heard

was 2007 the first year for the turbo Cobalt?

WRX handles about the same as the SRT4. When you move up to an STi it's a new ball game. Just make sure to get an 04+ so you get the LSD.

I've had 02 WRX, SRT4, STi, GTO in that order. GTO is better in every where. I only miss the STi for it's handling.

i put wrx, just because its a better built car 100% overall.

now if this is for a daily driver stand point, it would be the best bet.

if its for modding and making fast, the wrx is a completely different type of car than the neon and the cobalt s/c

if you were considering getting a turbo cobalt ss those are actually very good track cars even in stock form

WRX. AWD, sounds a thousand times better than the Neon or the Cobalt. Also looks better, imo.

I've always been a huge fan of the STi's, though... The WRX's aren't very fast from the factory, but they are a blast to drive around on the street.
