Tire strike

So what would cause a front tire to strike the skirt inside the wheelwell? There's a pretty decent tire scuff on the inside of my passenger side front wheel well in front of the tire that was obviously caused by the tire hitting it. I'm going to take it in an get it looked at, but I don't even know what direction to point them in. car is sitting square with about equal distance from the tire to the wheel wells on both sides from the way it looks, it would take some violence to bring that surface in contact with the tire. Even when I crank the wheel all the way to the side, there is still plenty of clearance from the tire, and there is no matching mark on the other side.

I gotta. Have you taken it off of any sweet jumps?

Enough caster will do that, esp if you are running minimal camber and getting all your L/R bias in the caster settings.

Even thoughthe tire doesn't scrape when the car is parked, on left hand turns with the right side of the car sitting lower...

Anyway, there is a pic of a happy type mark over here:

that mark is almost identical to the one I have in size and location. I havn't done anything to the suspension, it's all factory equipment and settings. I did have some work on the front end done to correct a spring issue. It's possible they did not do it properly. I'll get it checked out, because obviously it's not normal, and those type of problems never seem to fix themselves

Normal is kind of a relative term.

I would suggest finding out what your current front camber, front toe and front caster settings are before spinning the first wrench.

How is your tread wear?

i only have about 4200 miles on the car, so the tires still look more or less brand new. there are no noticable spots that are wearing more than others, and the wear appears to be even on both sides

I've got the same issue. I believe mine is only rubbing when the front suspension is compressed (going up my driveway) and when the wheel is turned. I can actually hear it hit when I am sitting still and I turn the wheel.
I have had no front end work done. My tires all look fine, it is on the second set.
