which waterpump replacement parts ?

My car is in the shop right now, yesterday I noticed a strong smell and after inspecting noticed my radiator was almost half empty.
At the shop they saw coolant leaking from the bottom of the waterpump, the mechanic is gonna call me when he can get a closer look.
But it'll probably need to be replaced and so does the t-stat and belt (might as well).

Now the 'problem', I live in the netherlands. So I have to order parts on the internet, but there are several different brands of waterpumps/stats/belt.

On autopartswarehouse.com alone there are like 7 different brands of belts (ranging from 12,- to 50,-)

Wat brands/parts should I avoid. I'd like it to be as cheap as possible of course (shipping/customs will already put a dent in my wallet) but still should be reliable.

Links or part numbers are appreciated, thanx.
Oh and webshops that ship internationally.

Go to GM Parts House---sponsor. I would get a NEW waterpump if it was me. The belt has the part# stamped on it. If you can't read it, go to GM Parts House and look it up online or send Gene a message. Goodyear, Dayco, are good belts---might as well change the a/c belt while you are changing belts.

agreed. I changed mine out about a month ago with a gates. I used the gaskets that came with the new pump and i havnt had a problem since.

What about Bosch, GMB or DNJ ?

And Jontall thanks for the rockauto tip, prices in euros and they don't have ridiculous fedex prices, so I won't have to wait 3-4 weeks for my package to arive.

I noticed my pump leaking out of the weep hole so I changed the pump out before it became an issue.

Went with a water pump from O'reillys (had great feedback on gto forums) and its been 10k without a single issue although I did buy the felpro metal gaskets since I didn't trust the flimsy ones that came with the pump.

Picked up gates belts at pepboys and a new thermostat while I was at it.

Scoogin Dickey had oem pumps for half off and free shipping awhile back. I'd look into them. I picked one up just incase. What part of the Netherlands do you live in? I use to live in Leiden.

Near eindhoven.

My mechanic was able to find a waterpump locally, was a little bit more expensive, but at least its fixed now, otherwise it might have taken another week.

But I was wondering if its worth to check if the old waterpump can be refurbished. Not sure what's wrong with it, but I did find a refurbishing kit somewhere (I believe it was just a couple of seals).
Have people tried this, is it worth it ?

I would buy a meziere lol, but Scoogin Dickey & GM Partshouse are the best for OEM parts.

Look on ls1tech forums in the sponsor section. Scoggin Dickey has a thread for brand new 0 mile take off waterpumps for a great price. I picked up a pump + factory gaskets up for a great price even though my pump is still fine. I figure it's only a matter of time before it goes to crap.
