Checked it out. Other than the red colored base. It is the same. But, I want to know how shipping would be for the buyer. No shipping price was listed.

Does it really matter because you can't see it anyway? I guess it's nice to have something a little bit different, but as a promotion maybe JHP should of advertised that they would pick a random person from the GP they had a while back.

They could of give it to them with some goodies with the shifter and came out looking like class act. The chance of getting the shifter would of produced some increased revenue over a higher order rate vs. one sale of one shifter.

Just my .02

Hey Cool_Hand_Luke.

I suppose if we had this shifter back then we might have been able to do something like that, but we have only had it for a few days.

We thought it was a good idea to give everyone a fair opportunity to purchase the limited edition GMM Ripshifter.

I do appreciated your idea and it has given us food for thought. ;)

Regards,
Mathew.

I'm not sure how this product is "Limited Edition". The base is andodized (SP??) red instead of blue....ok? With the right tools one could do this at home?

Am I missing somthing, what is unique about this? The base is anodised red instead of blue, you won't even see it unless you take the shift boot off. Why spend almost $100 extra for for a different color that one could change in their kitchen.

All I'm asking is for you to point out what I'm missing.

Wow dude,

You are seriously misinformed....

First - of all this shifter is NOT a B&M shifter.

Second - the normal color for the base, is a brasssy color. NOT blue.

Third - right now the shifter is going for $10 less than normal price and it has FREE shipping...

Fourth - you can change a shifters color in your kitchen? Do you plan on using food coloring?

If you don't want it don't bid on it and move along. But atleast pay attention

JHP, keep bringing us great products.

Thanks

It seems you are missing the point of my post:judge: All I wanted to know is what I was missing, I knew their had to be somthing different for a product like this to be called L.E.....Hence my post asking for sombody to point out what I did not understand. I'm 18 buddy it's not like I know everything in the world..I never said anything about the B&M shifter either, is says right in the topic title "GMM Ripshifter (Race)". I thought the base was blue and now I know it's "a brasssy color" sorry for my mistake...once again back to the point of my post of not knowing. I did not know that you could call somthing L.E. by lowering the price $10, changing the base color, and offering free shipping....but I do now.

Now about the anodizing this is not my work but a simple picture to show you how it works......
Image

-Submerse part in 140 degree cleaner for 5 min, rinse
-Etch part in room temp caustic solution (lye) 10 to 30 seconds or longer if matte finish is desired, rinse
-Desmut part at room temp for 1 to 3 min if previously etched or alloy calls for it such as (2024 alloy), rinse
-Anodize part at 4 to 12 ASF for calculated duration at room temp, rinse, rinse again
-Dye part in 140 degree dye for 15 seconds to 15 min, rinse
-Seal part in 180 degree Nickal Acetate sealer for 20 min, rinse and hang to dry

Why would I use food coloring.....sorry to get this way off topic but I'm done.

I like the fact that people are introducing new products for us consumers to buy and keep it up. I just did not understand :patriot:

No need to get all defensive.

Next time if you are not sure of something, just ask a question. Rather than talking negitvely about a vendors product that you are not sure about.

PS: what is etch and desmut? Also what is the cathose mad out of? I would also imagine the PSU would have to be pretty hefty. But that's good info to know...
