The next item for this Lip Spoiler is getting the finger prints/smugges out of the wing. Please advise. Yes I did see another thread on suggestions on how to get this kind of stuff out, and yes I can go to the other thread and look, but would be nice to refer back to this thread for the information.

Edit:
I should have started this thread out in a different way. I just want to make clear that this Lip Spoiler was not purchased through Maverickman. I purchased this spoiler from another member here on this board. I did ask this person if the spoiler had any blemishes on this wing and he asured me that it didn't. I know that Maverickman won't sell nothing but the best product out there, I love his stuff and look forward to purchasing more, please don't let this thread discourage you from purchasing anything from Maverickman.

Not yet, was thinking of the CF SAP Griles and Hood Scoops?

I would paint it but thats just me. And if you want to leave it unpainted I would either paint the insert or get Maverick man's CF insert. It looks a little off with the gray and black

Great suggestion on painting it. I wasn't sure how this would look on SRM. Right now I'm going to keep it CF and I hear you on the CF insert for the bumper. I think that would look really good.

Damn, looks great! I'm a huge fan of MM's CF work. A CF rear insert would really make it pop! On a side not, if you decide to paint it (I wouldn't), leave the crease unpainted. It would almost be like a CF pinstripe, just enough to show off the craftsmanship.

Damn well I guess I wont be the only SRM with that spolier :( HAHA Looks sweet

Haha nope cause I'll be getting mine in a couple months too :turbonaug

And it looks good man. I can't wait for mine.

Unfortunitly, not until about mid April. I will post more pictures of it after I get it out cause then I will have Spencer's front SAP extension on it as well.

Thanks guys, I really do love the spoiler and still on the fence on painting it. I will know more come summer time.

would like to hear more about getting the fingerprints and smudges out of the spoiler. Are they imperfections in the spoiler that do not just wipe off?

Thanks for the response and I understand the normal swirls and imperfections that develop over time, which were addressed in the link. My concern was over the "finger prints/smudges" imperfections you mentioned. I have read a lot of good feedback on the spoilers and was trying to understand if yours had imperfections you cannot simply clean off.

Thanks,
Steve

When I received the wing, it had finger prints on it that I couldn't wipe off, it seemed like the finger prints are in the clear itself? There's an area that looks like there are some scratches, I will take some pictures of the areas that I'm talking about, I hope they show up well enough in the pictures to show you all what I'm talking about.

Thanks man, hope to see u at the BSP Dyno day.

Do they all come with finger prints in the finish or did you get an exception? Feed back from others would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Steve

Great point, does anyone else have something on or something that looks like finger prints in the finish?

#27 ·
None on mine.......... I agree... get the other pieces..... i have them and love them.

I dunno, I'm used to my lip being body colored so it may be making me biased. With the body colored it seems to clean up the rear end, where as carbon fiber being black, it is distracting and draws your attention to it.

I'd agree with painting the insert black, but I wouldn't add more carbon fiber.

Here are some pictures of what I was talking about. Some of these pictures don't do justice, but hopefully this helps out on what I'm talking about.

The last picture I was hoping for a better top view, but none of them came out clear. The last one has to worst scratches in it.
