I get no codes, no misfires on the aeroforce gauges, no loss of power(noticeably anyway under normal driving). But if youve ever heard a motor run with a missing spark plug, what Im hearing is a muted version of that, because the plug is still in the head. I dont have the same noise on the driver side. The plugs were changed last year when I did the cam and head swap. No issues when I did that.
So now Ive got this noise, and it seemed to happen out of nowhere. I went to the LGS to get some .22, drove to another range to shoot, and after I came out and drove down the road I heard the noise from inside the cabin. It sounded like total shit. rolled the windows down and I could hear it more. I can hear the noise on that side(passenger) under the car.
Lets say my worst nightmare is true and when I get home, and the car cools down, I have a loose plug that cant be tightened, whats the fix? Helicoil? Does this mean Ive absolutely got to take the head off? Because I surely dont want to do that again. Im still sick of cleaning out head bolt holes almost a year after doing it.
Hopefully you can hear what im talking about. If you cant, then im sorry. Dont pay too much attention to the actual video as I wasnt trying to make that pretty, just trying to get the noise captured and in a couple places you can, indeed, hear what Im talking about.
Oh and also, if I place my finger on the #6 plug wire, I can feel it fire off/kick/ta[ everytime it sparks. Its very prominent and the same goes for #7 (although much less prominent and no noise). The rest of the plug wires I cannot feel them tick/kick/tap/fire off, whatever you want to call it.
Let me know if you need any clarifying questions.
Oh and if you think it sounds ticky or sewing machine like, its due to the link bar lifters for those who may not have heard them.
