installed a set of PS on a friends GTO they are pretty good for the money but they need a little cleaning up before installing them other then that they went on with out much trouble. IF you are low on cash and want headers they make good power.

i heard after a few years you have to replace PS? that true

Check out American Racing Headers, I have been very happy with them.

we see 10 on average, and you are at 4500 RPM and above when you are getting on your car! at the track you are only down low for a second then its all mid and up top the rest of the time!:turbonaug.

if money is tight get the PS. make sure to get them coated! dont get black!!!!!!!! they fit good, im not DOWNING them just stating facts. if you are going to pay 500$ for 10-15 hp why not spend 1K and get 20-25 hp? its all the same price per HP actually.........:) we have installed many PS headers and i think the biggest thing i see with them is the rusting on the BLACK ones and the coating from factory isnt that great either. i would go with a Jet hot coating on them and you would be good to go!!!!

If you by the pacesetter it esentially save you money to go towards other mods. And btw I love my PS!!!

No, maybe not 700-800, but 600-700 is pretty close?

Kooks Long Tube Headers 1 7/8"x 3" - 2005-2006 LS2 GTO
- Kooks Connection Pipes 3" Off Road PT#6703-OC
- Optional Header Coating Jet Hot 2000 Degree Flat Black
- Optional Mid Pipes Coated? No

That's 1300 bucks right there...

Pacesetter 1 3/4" x 3" Headers - 2004-06 Pontiac GTO - Jet Hot Extreme Coated Pacesetter 1 3/4" x 3" Headers - 2004-06 Pontiac GTO - Jet Hot Extreme Coated
- Optional Header Coating Jet Hot 2000 Degree Flat Black
- Optional Mid Pipes (inc. ship) 2005-06 GTO Mid Pipes (PT#82-1165)
- Optional O2 Extenders 2 Front, 1 Rear O2 Ext. (05-06 GTO)

That's a hair under 700 bucks.

I'm assuming the price comparisons are usually done with Kooks being uncoated and Pacesetters being coated... which will definitely knock some money off the table... There is definitely a price gap here though?

Mine are uncoated Kooks that I've had on since they came out with the 1 7/8 over 2 years ago. Although I live in Az, so I don't worry about rust either. IMHO it's all about what you can afford. If you can get the Kooks get em. If not get Pacesetters.

I think for a lot of people it's not even about that. Believe me, I can afford a lot of things if I want to, BUT and it's a big BUT

As I get older my cheap assedness is kicking in lol. :bomb:

I have done that comparison before and I swear it fell on deaf ears lol.

The bottom line is for me I need/want cats. Kooks cats are crap IMO and way too effin expensive. 1300+ for Kooks with catted mids none of it coated.

I will more then likely do Jet Hot coated Pacesetters with mids for 614 + 200 for a pair of Magnaflow metallic cats welded in myself.

That is a difference of over 500 dollars. What logic am I missing?

k my grandfather just passed on his holden monaro down to me.. and i was going to order some kooks...

whats the difference in cat and catless mids? i know im probably going to get made fun of but o well... i would just like to keep this car in the family and up-to-date

Thats on a built motor though. I think it would be safe to say the differences would be negligible on a stock motor since there is hardly a difference at peak here. And yes I know peak isnt everything.

Unless you have $50k for mods, I doubt you will see noticable differences in the Kooks. If you want show, get them, if you want just bang for the buck, get Pacesetter.
