Refurbished Kenwood head units?

I've got a friend with some refurb. Alpine amps, and a a few Sony CD changers, never a problem with any of them.

I've never had any issues with refurbished items. The way I look at it, they have been through quality control at least twice, usually carry full warranty and are much cheaper.

I'd agree with those above. I got a Kicker D class 1200.1 that was factory refurbished that I had installed in my S10 and had no problems at all. Plus I saved a very good amount of cash, plenty to purchase the sub I wanted to run in my truck and the capacitor to go with the amp.

The Kenwood 8017 does have a built in dvd, not a hideaway box right? I have never installed one of these, just want to make sure I am correct before I order this. Thanks for all the help guys, I am a newb when it comes to audio.
