There is no drain plug, you have to drop the pan. Actually, mine does have a drain plug, but the pan is an aftermarket one. I deleted my original post because I was finding conflicting info about the capacity. I was thinking when I did a converter change I had to add 8 or 9 quarts, but I can't remember for sure. I would probably have at least 8 quarts on hand to start out.
For a pan drop it shouldn't be that much. I know when I pulled my tranny for the cooler and the stall it took 9-10 quarts of fluid then. Pan drop should be like 6 or 7 but i can't remember for the life of me.
Oh and the stock pan has no drain plug, you have to pull the pan.
