How many quarts does the pan hold if I want to drop it and change the filter?

I didn't realize there is a drain plug?

I did mine awhile back and I think it was 6.5 quarts...I believe it says in your owners manual too

Mine took 10.5 quarts with an new converter and TCI deep pan (holds 2 extra quarts)

There is no drain plug, you have to drop the pan. Actually, mine does have a drain plug, but the pan is an aftermarket one. I deleted my original post because I was finding conflicting info about the capacity. I was thinking when I did a converter change I had to add 8 or 9 quarts, but I can't remember for sure. I would probably have at least 8 quarts on hand to start out.

For a pan drop it shouldn't be that much. I know when I pulled my tranny for the cooler and the stall it took 9-10 quarts of fluid then. Pan drop should be like 6 or 7 but i can't remember for the life of me.

Oh and the stock pan has no drain plug, you have to pull the pan.
