i have a m62 left over from my wife's 93 ssei. is there an aluminum intake manifold for the ls1 that i could bolt it to? would the electronics work with the ls1 computer? i haven't researched anything yet. just wanted to see if it is realistic before i waste a lot of time on it.

You would suck the guts out of the supercharger, or spin it at 80million rpm to make it flow hot air into a 5.7. Its made for a 3.8 and even those guys make the thing run out of steam when they start making a fair amount of power.

I am still saying hot air thats not worth a crap. Not to mention the 15 year old blower you are speaking about I would say not worth it. My buddy Tom had a GTP with a small pulley that made about 14#s of hot air(low timing), went down to about 12 (higher timing) when he went A2W intercooler but still not the direction I would persue on a 5.7.

I doubt you could make much at all, the newest model on the cobalt SS' make 12 psi and up to 22 on a 2.0L motor. This is the very newest model. The one off of that car has to be a early gen eaton M62 and i bet it's not near as advanced as the new ones. It would be a major waste of time and money to fit that to your GTO. Your best bet is to just purchase a kit and not have to worry about all the problems with making something like this work in the S/C sense unless you have a shop full of tools and machines

the series 1 m62 was to small for the 3.8 , as well not very efficient the pulley on that m62 was very small to begin with

plus the amount of work to try and get it to work your better off getting a new kit

youve got prochargers , maggie 112 and 122 , and several turbo options

Uh, sound and looks are subjective, but (generally speaking) there is no reason that superchargers last longer than turbochargers. Assuming it's water cooled, and that you take care of it, they will last as long as anything else.

Hmmmmm, 80% effecient or 35% effecient???? I say Turbo all the way. We have a knack for them though and love the sound of raw HPs being packed into the cylinders.

i want to keep the car i have stock since it's a w40. thinking of buying a salvaged one and brainstorming for things to do with it. never had a turboed car. the only forced induction cars i've had are 93ssei, 1938 nash 455 w/708. love the wine!

An M62 is way too small. The M90 is too small for even the GTP. They have to spin the shit out of them to make alot of boost.

Scape Goat I have an M62 on 350Z Nissan, It maxs out at 8 Psi on a 3.5 Liter engine, I doubt that you even get 4 PSI.
