Thinking about springing the cash for a svede otrcai for my winter parts build. So far got a Fast 102 intake with the NW 102 tb. Not planning on a SD tune (using HPTuners). Lots of 100mm maf sensors out there and my question is which brand works the best with this setup? Searched alot found TSP, Lingenfelter, and a few other namebrands (sorry can't remember). So you guys/gals out there running this setup which one is working great for you and if you need add parts such as wire harness, etc. Any info greatly appreciated on this subject.

Whats wrong with having a MAF? My car runs very well with no issues, I have seen quite a few SD tuned cars run like crap! Im running a stock 85mm maf and plan as well to go to a 100mm maf, and go from my 90mm t/b to a 102 t/b.

speed density tunes have their pros and cons. For someone who lives in a place where altitude changes are very cmmon for example, a MAF is the easy route, as i believe speed density tunes rely on the 1bar only reading at startup, and that value is used for the rest of your driving, even if PSIa outside changes
(either that, or that was the case for my previous car, but i think its a GTO ecm thing

Actually I first used a 100mm CAI nearly 4 years or more ago. SNL was selling them some time before anyone else. I think Lingenfelter used the Colorado MAF sensor then the more proliferate ones came out with the LS3/LS7 combinations. SNL sells a 100 mm MAF tube and the MAF itself runs about 100 from Gene Culley. Look up the 4 inch CAI on here. Gerry and I even tested one with his OTRCAI and it worked fine on my 04 with a fast 92mm and throttle body. I would believe that it would really enhance the 102mm setup.

Ive got the LPE 100mm MAF on mine. It came with the data to enter to give you a decent starting point on your LS2/LS1/LS7/LS6. I'm not a huge fan of SD only systems either. Why have just ONE system when you can have a fail safe and run both??? Thats the way GM made it so why ditch one??

That will work for the guys still using a tube resembling the stock set-up.

On something like the Svede with a short, straight shot to the TB, I don't think it would really make all that much a difference.

How many lbs of boost was the car running?? How many passes did they end up making to correct the A/F ratio while the car was on speed density set for a different day/altitude etc....??

Most high boost cars MAX the reading capability of the MAF and must switch solely to Speed Density. (2 bar or 3bar setups). Once this is done you need to invest in some kind of a IAT sensor that is fast acting and place it into the intake track. (the sensor for the 87 GNX's work well) Next it would be very wise to install a permanent Wideband sensor and guage to let you know what A/F ratio you are running letting you know when adjustments should be made to your tune due to atmosphere changes.

Now does the OP want to ditch his current stuff and install a $60 omega Fast acting IAT, Hack a hole in the Intake track, and switch tunes a couple times a year because the weather changes?? Or just run on a VERY conservative Tune that might cut him short a few ponies all the time??? Does he really need a Speed Density Setup because he want to run High boost??

I believe the C6Z06 uses the same 100mm MAF it looks to me like they perform well N/A!!

FWIW ive taken my 100mm LPE maf to 9.3lbs of boost without any problems!

For the cost of the two items you mentioned you could get the na powerchamber and add the maf and mount and have a 100mm plus Maf in the carbon tube without a heavy heat soaking billit piece with seams that build heat and turbulance. A unmatched intake in both performance and apperance ,give it a look and let us know if we can help you out

Don't know why this turned into a maf/sd war, i was just curious in my opening post which brand maf sensor would be good to run with my upcoming 102 setup and possible svede otrcai????? Thinking TSP or LPE. I saw granetelli(?) makes one also. I'm def not going SD with this build, MAF all the way! Is your NA powerchamber out yet Tom? Knew you made the one for the maggies and people on here was wondering if you were coming out with a NA version.

SNL makes a very good unit

I made a 100mm ls3 maf for under a $100. pm me for deatails if you want.

That's cool. I can see how once you have the element it would be pretty easy. 4" Schedule 30 PVC pipe would be easy to work with and its ID is 104mm. I've used it to mock up MAFs before.

I bought my Snl piece for 100 dollars unused off a build in the for sale section :) Billet aluminum is nice. I am probably going to wind up going with a carb style manifold... and boost

Is there any real gain in power with a 100 MAF upgrade over the stock MAF with the stock displacement?

I picked up 10hp switching from the 78mm 04 maf to the 85mm ls2 maf,so I would imagine you would see a gain.
